About our St. Albans Pre-School
Having reached this stage of their development the Brock House children begin to explore the world about them in more depth. While individual topics of interest are undertaken during the year our highly experienced staff place a great deal of attention on building the childrens life skills. These range from a healthy life style; diet, exercise, how the body works; to transport – how we can best move from place to place, what skills this involves; to positive behaviour – how we treat others, good manners, recognising and accepting difference.
Outdoor visits continue and expand to include St. Albans Museum, and Strathmore House where the children enthusiastically meet up with equally enthusiastic senior citizens. About Bright Sparks: 3 ½ -5 Years OldIn our Bright Sparks room the childrens readiness for school is further enhanced. There is a more structured day, with a little more time being spent preparing for school reception class. While the children are encouraged to exercise greater independence of choice in accessing their activities, they are supported and their ideas are extended by our experienced Pre-School team. Here at Brock House we still retain a staff ratio of one to every six children, ensuring that your children receive the care and supervision that they deserve.
Our Pre-School children join together for outdoor play, and Bright Sparks take lunch in their own room. Brock House follows the same learning and development planning from babies through to school leavers. With an individual child learning plan based around their interests, parental input, and great attention to learning and development needs, we endeavour to ensure that every child in our care reaches their individual potential.
