About Our St. Albans NurseryAt Brock House we recognise the importance of all kinds of play, developing this to suit the individual child. While ensuring that all aspects of a childs development are covered, with particular emphasise given to any specific needs each child may have, we especially want every child to enjoy their time at Brock House. We also ensure that the children are beginning to become aware of different aspects of the local community.
The children enjoy playing outside in appropriate clothing every day - regardless of the weather. They are developing as individuals and their interests and needs are met by using a child based planning system which is frequently reviewed to enable parents involvement in their child’s progress. We have 2 parents evenings a year, as well as less formal events for you to join in – such as Brock House Fathers Day Tea, or the Teddy Bears Picnic. About Little Rainbows: 2–2 ½ Years OldLittle Rainbows is our largest Nursery Room. Usually divided by furniture and equipment into the various different activity areas, including particularly the messy play, it is also tidied up for the nursery children’s freshly made home cooked lunches. It is periodically cleared for special nursery events (eg Brock House Christmas party, Pre-School Leavers Disco) and can even hold our Brock House Fun Day events if the weather is so bad that we are unable to stay out in the garden. We maintain a ratio of 1:4 ensuring the children receive the appropriate high level of attention for this age group.
