About our St. Albans Baby Care Facility
Our Baby Unit has separate areas within Brock House Nursery School including sleeproom, changing area, and outdoor play area. We can provide for up to eighteen babies, most of whom progress into the main nursery at age 2 years. All our baby care staff have additional baby specific training so as to best support 0 – 2 year olds; we use a key worker system; and we maintain a ratio of 1:3. Our high calibre baby unit staff will contact you (or you can contact them) whenever it is appropriate for the well being of your baby. We have 2 parents evenings each year as well as less formal events – such as mulled wine and mince pies at Christmas!
We try to spend time outside with the children every day and take frequent walks within the St. Albans community to : eg nearby Clarence Park, St. Albans railway station, the library, and local shops. We supply the waterproof capes and jumpsuits so we can get out whatever the weather. About Butterfly Room: 1-2 Years OldThe Butterfly room is the largest in the Baby Unit and is also used for babies lunches. The separate sleep room is just along the corridor.
While our babies become more mobile and explore their environment, both indoors and outside, and have fun with their friends and staff alike, our babies are already learning at a tremendous rate. Our qualified and caring staff ensure that the babies receive a solid grounding in both social and “academic” skills without them realising that they are doing so.
